So this was the new Reactor. The machine featured in Graco Inc.’s booth at the 2014 SprayFoam Convention & Expo, where the Reactor 2 made its debut, did not exhibit the stout, industrial stature that was seemingly present in every spray foam machine in the SPF industry. Instead, a tall, slender proportioner stood beneath the booth’s blue banners. Attendees were drawn to it, intrigued by the new look and captivated by the new functionality.
Depending on where you’ve lived in the U.S., you may have heard the phrase: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It’s a conservative, low-risk approach, one that favors constancy above all else. But that comes at the expense of improvement and innovation, which are intrinsically tied to change. In a growing industry that’s being permeated with technology, as is the case in the SPF industry, the drive to shift direction, and boldly so, can be considered a competitive necessity. Graco had this in mind when designing their updated Reactor line.
