Air Barrier Industry Gathers in Orlando for the 2014 ABAA Conference & Trade Show
ORLANDO, FL - March 26, 2014 - The 2014 Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) Conference & Trade Show is currently taking place at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Florida. SprayFoam.com was on site to cover the event.This marks the third consecutive year of the conference which brings in stakeholders and representatives from an array of different companies together to learn about the latest air barrier advancements, technologies, and standards in commercial and residential buildings.
During the three-day event, which runs through March 27, attendees are given the opportunity to obtain different certifications via training courses that include classroom work, as well as outdoor hands-on-training. Accreditations such as ABAA SPF Installer, ABAA Auditor, WUFI and Blower Door Technician will be provided during these training courses, which are ongoing through each day of the duration of the conference. Representatives from the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) will also attend the conference to provide SPFA Spray Foam Training and Certification during the third day of the event.
The ABAA Conference & Trade Show features several sessions that constitute four different tracks geared to the various air barrier professionals taking part in the conference: Installation of Air Barriers, Contractor Sessions, Design Professionals Training, and Testing and Analysis. Presenting these sessions are members of the ABAA Committee, as well as special guests who were specifically brought in to educate attendees on different aspects of air barriers. During the afternoon, the Exhibit Hall trade floor will open, where 32 different companies will be displaying their products in exhibitor booths, and attendees will able to mingle and learn about different developments in air barrier technologies. Among this year's exhibitors are Graco Inc., MCC, Gaco Western, Demilec, and BASF.
The first day featured a Welcome Reception and Contractor Awards ceremony that took place at the Exhibit Hall, where ABAA Committee members recognized ABAA-accredited contractors based on their quality work in the past year.

ABAA members also decided to recognize their own with the first-ever ABAA Chairman's Awards.

Staff Award: Lori Floor, ABAA's Training and Certification Manager.
In addition to the general and training sessions, attendees will also be treated to live product demonstrations in the parking lot , where various manufacturers will highlight their products.
ABAA members will hold their Annual General Meeting and Exhibitor Meeting during the event. Once the 2014 ABAA Conference & Trade Show comes to a close, they will begin preparations for the 2015 ABAA Conference & Trade Show, which will take place in Dallas, Texas.
