Keane Insulation Completes Spray Foam Application at Outer Banks Beach House

BELLS ISLAND, NC–May 23, 2012–There are few among us who don't appreciate the simple pleasures of a beach house, and there are few beach houses as distinctive as Deltec's signature round homes. For a new Deltec construction in North Carolina's Outer Banks region, spray foam was the chosen insulation, and Keane Insulation was there to answer the call.

"Deltec recommends spray foam for their houses, especially due to the roof structure," Neil Keane explained, referring to the Deltec's circular design.

Narrow Shores Development operated as general contractor for the project, which was located on Bells Island, near the town of Currituck.  

"This is the second home that I've sprayed for Narrow Shores, and the third Deltec Home that I've insulated," Keane said.

The application required 2" of closed-cell foam to be sprayed on the walls and the underside of the floor decking. This was complimented with 2.5" of closed-cell foam applied to the underside of the roof decking. Indeed, the house is virtually encapsulated with spray foam.

"It's another first-class job completed with Premium Spray Products," said Keane, who opted for Premium's Foamsulate 210 2 lb. SPF for the application.

Beyond benefitting from the foam's insulating properties, the home's structural integrity will be improved by such an extensive application of closed-cell foam. This is especially important for a coastal home in the oft-battered Outer Banks region when hurricane season rolls around. Until then, the owners are likely just to enjoy the view.
