Last Day of Action for 2014 SprayFoam Expo
PALM SPRINGS, CA–January 29, 2014–The 2014 SprayFoam Convention & Expo continued Wednesday, SprayFoam.com there to cover the final day of organized events.
Prior to Wednesday’s events, attendees wrapped up Tuesday’s activities by mingling at the opening reception, which took place in the exhibit hall. Other after-hours activities from Tuesday night included receptions hosted by Gaco Western, Demilec, and SWD, as well as a special reception hosted by Graco for the launch of Reactor 2.
Wednesday’s General Session was highlighted by Bill Irwin of Carpenters International Training Fund (CITF), which actually offers a broad range of training beyond carpentry. Irwin discussed CITF’s incredibly thorough approach to training, which includes a large main facility in Las Vegas and more than 200 satellite locations. Another important aspect was the degree to which CITF can tailor training materials to each and every trainee, as the organization recognizes the nuances between any two positions. Irwin drew parallels between the work CITF is doing, and the SPFA's emphasis on training with the implementation of its Professional Certification Program.
The morning also included reports from the SPFA committees, including the Executive Committee, Building Envelope Committee, Certification Committee, Consultant Committee, Roofing Committee, Safety Committee, SprayFoam Convention & Expo Planning Committee, and Technical Oversight Committee.
When the General Session wrapped up, the Breakout Sessions continued, covering topics like improving profit, performing commercial projects, using thermal and ignition barrier coatings, practicing residential building science, comparing foam to fiber glass, optimizing a spray rig, and entering the SPF roofing market.
The exhibit hall opened its doors again in the afternoon, with exhibitors anticipating a significant second-day wave of attendees, as second-day traffic has been steadily increasing every year. The exhibit hall then transitioned into the closing reception, wherein attendees could use their new challenge coins to win prizes like TV’s and tablets.
It was also announced that the 2015 SprayFoam Convention & Expo will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
