CFM
I have a MXII that I will be using along with the drum pumps. I am wondering what to size a new compressor and air dryer as far as CFM goes. Also the drum pumps are Graco fast-flow 1-1. I believe stainless steel. I want to have a rebuild kit handy am I correct that I will need PTFE Packings. Thanks

Compressed air requirements (includes transfer pumps). 1.0 gal per minute - 34.4 CFM at 100 PSI 1.5 gal per minute - 50.6 CFM at 100 PSI 2.0 gal per minute - 57.4 CFM at 100 PSI If you want to be able to use this machine to its full potential you would need a min of 60 CFM at 100 PSI, if you plan on using any other air tools during the spray application you would need to up-size accordingly. |

I assume this is the GlasCraft Maxi-II and it should have the same 5inch air motor and pumps that the A-5 Guardian has. I run the A-5 and transfer pumps with an Eaton 3 cylinder 2 stage 5hp compressor with unloader valves so the compressor doesn’t start and stop. And have no problems keeping up with an 03 chamber and tip that is more than enough foam unless you plan on spraying big roofs (I don’t do big roofs) I think this compressor puts out 18-20cfm @ 100psi I also have a 3hp 3cylinder single stage backup compressor that I can run if I need more air I think it will put out 14cfm@100psi. I think the air flow requirements stated by Pinnacle are high as I recall GlassCraft sales rep told me that you needed around 20-25cfm@100psi to run their air driven foam machines and transfer pumps. But I would recommend that you get the biggest compressor that you can run off your power source and that you can afford. I have chosen not to go bigger than the 5hp so that I can run everything from a 50amp shore cord (I rent a generator or a gas air compressor if there is no power on the job site.)
