closed cell for flood control
midwest is experiencing widespread flooding again and know that closed cell foam is excellent for control of water damage in sidewalls. is there specific literature that addresses this issue and the use of closed cell foam in lieu of batt in sidewalls to keep water out? Have seen some foam systems advertise that they are certified for use in flood areas; thanks for any leads as to where I can find the specific literature.

FEMA has a guideline for severe flood zone areas and a list of approved building materials for those areas. download the document at this website http://www.fema.gov/pdf/fima/job4.pdf |

i had a structure with 4" cc in sidewalls that had 6.5' of water in it during the 08 flood... only structure in county/city that wasnt required to remove insulation to remediate h20 damage,,,drywall removed,,wall pressure washed,,new wireing installed,,wireing channels patched,,re-rocked,,, cobbster,,that being said,,it makes me wonder how folks up in CR are useing fema money to rebuild with filterglass or smellulose in the flood plains,,, oohh and it makes me wonder,,, |
