Concrete walls, water, and SPF
If a concrete basement wall is insulated with closed cell foam, what will happen when water comes through the walls? If the foam doesn't separate from the wall, will the water run down the wall, come through the foam, stay in the foam??? I have my own ideas, but I don't know for sure. Do you know? -foamilyman |

The foam surely wont come off the wall if your applicator has a clue. 2lb. has a certain level of permeability, I would recommend 2" rather than 3"+ below grade to allow the wall to dry to the inside if it needs to. You shouldn't have water coming through your walls though... |

yes,,indeed,,, you got a water problem,,the house is getting wet,,,big time,,the foam insulation is subjected to water intrusion,,bad doo doo..but,, pump the water out,,, fix the water intrusion problem,,, clean up the surface contamination of the flood water on the foam,,, fix the rest of the schtuff,, frame it,,foam-it,,,f-it,,, foamdude uh,,like sir richard-dll said,,if done right it is glued to the substrate,,,kinda why we do this,,,kinda why we dont shoot to tyvek under metal buildings lol... |
