Disolving hard Iso
I have a rig where the Iso side is crystalized. I am in the process of removing the cylinder I'm sure it will have to be rebuilt or replaced. Can anyone advice me on the cheapest most effective way to dissolve Iso.?

Dissolving hardened ISO is not a simple process. There are a few ways to complete the task, however they can be dangerous or hazardous in different ways. If the hardened ISO is created by reacting it with polyol (making foam) DynaSolv's CU-6 will somewhat soften the isocyanate. If the ISO is hardened due to moisture (crystallized isocyanate), it will become a fluid again if heated above 350 degrees F. This is a very hazardous process, open flame heating can produce extremely toxic combustion byproducts like phosgene and cyanide gas. The use of high temperature to help melt ISO off the parts can also warp steel parts and destroy seals and hoses. We use a proprietary system in order to clean parts, feel free to contact us about pricing. 1-877-737-4362. |
