Dow commercial foam (CM series)
Has anyone used the Dow (CM Series) foam that is for use with the Thermax Wall System? The foam costs more than their normal foam which is now labeled as residential and the density is 2.2 pound compared to the residential 2.0 pound.I am looking mainly at the yields. I was told that the yields are still appox. 4000 board feet per set, but with the higher density, I would expect yields to drop. Any feedback on this product would be appreciated. |

You may get 4000 board feet even with 2.2 lb foam. It depends on your applicator, substrate temperature, skin. I would expect maximum yield if applied at maximum pass thickness. You will lose yield on every pass. count on masonry surfaces to reduce your yield by 25% on the first pass, so a flash coat may help, and by flash coat with newer blowing agents, I mean approximately 3/4 inches on the pass. The material I use now, on wood, I get maximum performance, on concrete, yield goes down substantially. |
