Expired 1/2 lb. unopened foam set
I have a set of unopened drums of half pound density LaPolla spray foam that will be 10 months past the expiration date (which was originally 6 months). Is there any chance at all that it will spray and foam up or are the problems known to occur going to doom any attempt to use it? What are the problems that will result from using such old material?

There is a good chance it will spray fine depending on how it has been stored. But, call La Polla and ask them for their recommendations. The material may have separated and need mixing or the catalyst may be old and could use a little "kick" of some new catalyst to get the reaction profile back up to speed. Also check out the A side for crystals. Condensation sometimes occurs in the drums that would cause the iso to crystalize. |
