Metal Building with fiberbags installed
I have a hvac installer saying that he has seen oc applied over existing fiberbags by other contractors and everything was ok...I disagree with him i think that the fiberglass needs to be removed and foam applied directly to the metal substrate. I think there would be possible moisture mold issues down the road. Any thoughts on this?

Just wanted to share...... last week was called to a site where a metal building was showing signs of rust through FROM THE INSIDE. Building was 6 years old in a heating climate. Someone had sprayed CCF over exiting fiberglass. And you guessed it....the fiberglass was saturated. DONT TAKE SHORTCUTS......WALK AWAY BEFORE YOU CREATE A POTENTIAL LAWSUIT!!!! |

happenin all over the place,, hillbilly foamers bein supplied by top rank suppliers who are saturating the market with folks who were searchin for a purpose long before foam,,and they're still searchin,,,at our expense...god luv em.. lets see... preferred contractor gold star applicator hillbilly foamer im a roofer too im a plumber too im a drywaller too (aint that who you want doin your foam work,,the guy coverin it up..lol) im a framer too (see above) ...la te da te dee,,,and the beat goes on... ,,and monday morning comeing down,,, ps: many folks fail to remember that the metal panels themselves are a vapor retarding membrane,,, and for the shirt and tie and skirt bunch,,,i wonder what unintended liability is being incurred by providing materials and or equipment to whomever has the $$$ and provides such quality installations,,,, |
