new construction foam depth
i am getting ready to insulate my new house. how thick should i have my walls sprayed with 2lb closed cell foam? the house is 2/6 construction with 1 inch of rigid foam as sheathing. i assume the sheathing will allow me to use less sprayin and still achieve desired insulation values. i am thinking of using about 2.5 inches of sprayin foam. i live in a cold climate.
the brand is insulstar. is that a good product?

this is a great app for the cold climate...
the 2.5" cc over the 1" rigid will give you a great wall insulation system.
you will be rewarded with the best thermal performance available to you.
insulstar is a good product.
but only as good as the installer.
dont forget to address the attic/lid.
at least seal the flat drywall lids to complete the envelope.
good luck with your project

InsulStar works well. We are gold Star applicators of it. 2.5" will be your best friend.

It's tough stuff after it cures. That's good.
