rupture disc
got to replace rupture disc on my e-20 anything special i should know.it is in b side of heater. thanks

1). Turn off power and disconnect. 2). Relieve pressure. 3). Wait for heaters and fluid to cool. 4). Remove back cover. 5). Remove rupture disk. 6). Apply pipe sealant and PTFE to new rupture disk assy. 7). Install rupture disk. 8). Reinstall back cover. |

Its always a good idea to purge the system of air after you do work like that regardless of what side you are working on. |

What is a rupture disc, and how would one know that it needs to be replaced? Thanks, Tim Granite State Spray Foam Co. |

The rupture disk is a backup safety pressure relief device in case the standard pressure relief valve fails to open at its' predetermined set pressure. The rupture disk is a metal disk that will rupture at a set pressure and will let fluid flow through until it is replaced. |

It's the little red covered plug on the u-tube heater of a reactor. And like maxx said, you will know if one ruptures because you will be swimming in fluid. |
