Waterblown vs 245
What do you guys prefer? Downsides to either. Im getting a set of 245 and wondering what the rest of ya like.

I definately prefer the waterblown foam. You can get way more coverage out of water blown foam because you can heat it up to get a bette reaction. When foam has the 245 blowing agent in it, it is like a 55 gallon coca cola, it will froth up if you stir it too much, or heat it up too hot. If you get it over 130 degrees it will begin to froth up and change the vescosity (thickness) of the chemical. For more information on water blown 2# foam give me a call at 318-450-0335. Depends on the application and what the customer or architect is trying to achieve. While open cell foams do have good expansion they do not create a tight air and moisture barrier like closed cell. Many Insulation contractors spray 1" of closed cell and spray cellulose or apply batt insulation over to achieve R value. So there again depends on what you are trying to do. |
