Alabama Roofing Company Restores Automobile Dealership Roof With Positive Results

MOBILE, AL - An old metal roof covers the McConnell Automotive Dealership, one of the largest automobile dealerships in the Mobile area. Not only were there several leaks in the building, the heat during the summer months made life tough for the employees at the facility. The owners went to Kiker Corporation in search of a solution to both issues.

Kiker Corporation presented the American WeatherStar Acrylic 211 roof coating system as an alternative to a complete tear-off and replacement.

To help offset heat in the building, Kiker contractors took out the skylights inside the building prior to installing the AWS coating system. New metal was set in place of the skylights before they aggressively power-washied the metal panels, removing dirt and flaking rust.

AWS Rust Prime 960 was sprayed over the entire surface at a coverage rate of one gallon per 100 square feet. Kiker  contractors proceeded to address all seams, penetrations and fasteners with the AWS Butyl Rubber 320 (Brush Grade) material to ensure the roof was completely water-tight.

To complete the project, two coats of AWS Acrylic 211 were installed to give the owner a 20 mil, bright white coating system with a ten year warranty covering leaks in the system.
