Alaskan Insulation Company Cuts Costs with Touch ‘n Seal Portable Spray Foam System
ST. LOUIS, MO – June 14, 2011– In today’s unsettled economy, contractors nationwide are looking for ways to cost cuts without sacrificing service. Alas-Co General Construction Co, Inc., an Anchorage-based insulation services company, keeps their fleet of foam insulation trucks moving year-round, servicing a broad range of commercial and residential customers. However, the company knew that dispatching their large trucks to smaller insulation projects was uneconomical and costing the company money. They needed a cost-effective solution for spray foaming crawl spaces and other small to mid-sized areas.
Stewart Miller, shop foreman at Alas-Co, estimates the cost to dispatch one of the company’s spray foam trucks runs about $500 – and that’s the cost before the truck even reaches the job site. “Our trucks carry huge diesel generators and air compressors and they need to heat up for 30 minutes prior to use,” says Miller. “So, when our local distributor told me they had a new, portable spray foam insulation system in stock, the CPDS from Touch ‘n Foam, I jumped at the chance to check it out. We purchased the unit and we now use the CPDS almost every day.”
The Touch n’ Foam Constant Pressure Dispensing System (CPDS) is a self-contained, portable spray foam system that dispenses Class I fire retardant, thermal insulating and sound attenuating 2-component polyurethane spray foam – twice as fast as foam kits. Using an adjustable constant delivery rate, the CPDS operator can apply spray foam to horizontal or vertical surfaces. Hoses up to 150’ long allow for jobsite portability and versatility. No chemical calibration is required. With an empty weight of less than 155 lbs., and a 24” x 33” footprint, the CPDS fits in the back of a standard pick-up truck and easily navigates through standard doorways and entrances.
“The CPDS is extremely easy to transport and not having to use our big trucks on small projects has saved us a substantial amount of money,” says Miller. “Plus, the unit is easy to set-up and very user-friendly.”
Touch ‘n Seal foams contain no CFCs and are International Residential Code Compliant. “The CPDS is an economical way to enter or expand your spray foam business,” says Michael Sites, Touch ‘n Seal Marketing Manager. “It’s an ideal solution for any contractor looking for a low investment cost with a high rate of return.”
