BASF Sponsors Live Spray Foam Demonstrations at IBS 2009

WYANDOTTE, MI, January 19, 2009 – BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises LLC is sponsoring live demonstrations at the 2009 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, Nevada highlighting the advantages of building with BASF COMFORT FOAM® spray-applied, closed-cell polyurethane foam insulation. The presentations are intended to provide a practical understanding of how BASF COMFORT FOAM increases energy efficiency, durability and speed of construction.

The demonstrations will be held at the Show Village Learning Center located within the outdoor exhibits area during the following times:

Tuesday, January 20: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Wednesday, January 21: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Thursday, January 22: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM &2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

“To demonstrate BASF’s commitment to builder education, we are conducting live COMFORT FOAM demonstrations accompanied by commentary from our team of building scientists,” said Michael Sievers, BASF Marketing Manager.

According to Sievers, the presentations, co-sponsored by Honeywell Corporation, will illustrate how closed-cell polyurethane spray foam insulation can add two-to-three times the structural strength to walls and roof decks, provide twice the R-value per inch of traditional insulation, and promote healthy indoor air quality. The presenters will also discuss why the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) classifies closed-cell foam as a flood-resistant insulation.
