Bayer MaterialScience LLC Will Showcase Sustainable Building Solutions At 2011 EEBA Conference
SPRING, TX - August 26, 2011 - To mark its recent association with the Energy & Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA), Bayer MaterialScience LLC will be exhibiting at the 2011 EEBA Excellence in Building EXPO, September 14-16 in Las Vegas, NV.
Bayer participates in the EEBA Houses That Work™ educational series. This training series focuses on residential building science to improve the performance, efficiency and durability of the completed home. As such, the training series reflects Bayer’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Bayer will showcase its residential spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation and its High Performance Residential Program during the EEBA Excellence in Building EXPO in booths 17 & 18.
Bayseal® open cell (OC) SPF and Bayseal® closed cell (CC) SPF provide superior sealing properties and a higher insulation (R-value) in homes compared to fiberglass batt insulation. Bayer designed a display to demonstrate side by side performance of Bayseal® OC SPF and fiberglass batt insulation. This will give EEBA EXPO attendees a unique opportunity to see insulation in action. Properly installed, Bayseal® OC and CC have respective R-values of 3.9 and 6.9 per inch.
Bayer will also feature its High Performance Residential Program, which combines whole-house building science and SPF insulation. The Bayer team works directly with builders to help them maximize the insulation properties of Bayseal® CC SPF and Bayseal® open cell (OC) SPF by focusing on an optimally sized HVAC system, interior moisture management, compliance with ASHRAE ventilation standard 62.2, and regionally specific thermal enclosure specifications.
“We are happy to be part of the new EEBA Houses That Work program,” said Renee Zierden, General Manager, Bayer MaterialScience LLC Spray Insulation and Roofing Materials. “The EEBA focus on education and whole-house building science is integral to the Bayer approach to the residential market. We know builders and homeowners alike are demanding higher performing homes. By participating in the EEBA training series, we can better deliver on this mandate.”
