BPI and ICC Introduce Co-Branded Building Science Principles (BSP) Reference Guide
MALTA, NY – October 2, 2015 – The Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) has partnered with the International Code Council (ICC) to offer a co-branded version of its popular Building Science Principles (BSP) Reference Guide.
The BSP Reference Guide, known as the first step into the world of home performance for those in the residential building trades, has sold over 2,000 copies since it was introduced in 2013. Using everyday language and full color graphics, the BSP addresses how the systems of a home interact with each other and the fundamental scientific principles of heat, moisture and air movement to impact the home's overall performance.
"Offering an ICC co-branded version of the guide makes all the sense in the world," said Larry Zarker, BPI CEO. "It's always a good thing when code officials, home builders, contractors and homeowners are speaking the same language. This relationship with the ICC helps make that happen."
"ICC is pleased to collaborate with BPI in making the BSP Reference Guide more widely available," said Mark Johnson, ICC Executive Vice President and Director of Business Development. "This publication is an excellent resource and supports ICC's commitment to sustainable and affordable structures."

The International Code Council develops model standards and codes used in the design, build and compliance process of constructing safe, affordable and sustainable structures. Fifty states and the District of Columbia have adopted the International Codes, or I-Codes, set by the ICC to provide minimum safeguards for people at home, in the workplace or at school. Code officials with access to the I-Codes and the new co-branded BSP will be well equipped to determine if a building is performing to code.
The co-branded version of the guide is offered in both English and Spanish and can be purchased online and at the ICC Annual Conference in Long Beach, CA.
