BPI Announces Manufacturer Product Listing Program for the Home Performance Industry
MALTA, NY – May 8, 2014 – The Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) announced the launch of the BPI Product Listing Program, a system that will evaluate and list the home performance tools, products and materials that meet product specification industry standards. Manufacturers whose product has met the relevant standard will be listed on BPI's website and authorized to use BPI's Product Listing Mark on their product and its collateral marketing materials.
In addition to publishing products on their website, BPI will promote listed products to contractors and consumers through a Google Adwords marketing campaign that includes search engine optimization and keyword search marketing.
"Since our inception, BPI has worked to raise the bar in home performance contracting by developing standards for retrofit work and credentials for workers. Today we extend that principle to the products used by contractors and consumers," said Larry Zarker, BPI CEO. "Over the years, many contractors and agencies have sought advice from BPI on home performance products and materials. BPI's listing service and Listing Mark will help them identify high quality products."
Contractors and consumers look for a seal of approval when they are buying goods and services. They usually don't have the time and expertise to do due diligence themselves - they rely on appropriate industry standards. BPI's product listing program will identify the products and materials that meet industry standards for diagnostic evaluation and installation of energy upgrades to the home, and list them on a designated page of the BPI website.
"BPI's Product Listing Program will help to provide the home performance industry with a consolidated list of high quality products and materials that contractors use in their everyday work", said Kaethe Schuster, Market Manager, Dow Building Solutions. "By verifying the attributes of the products used, as well as having access to proper use and application information, home performance professionals will be better equipped to ensure the health and safety of the homeowners they serve."
BPI will identify material specification standards for material and products used in the home performance industry, and then evaluate materials and products that have been submitted to these standards. Once approved, the materials will be listed on the product listing page of the BPI website and organized by type.
