Cool-Roof Systems Ranks 42nd In ENR California's 2012 Top Specialty Contractors Report
SAN MARCOS, CA – November 27, 2012 – ENR (Engineering News-Record) is a weekly magazine providing news, data, and opinion for the construction industry worldwide. Each year, the publication provides a report of top specialty contractors. Cool-Roof Systems, a commercial spray foam contractor, ranked 42nd in ENR California's 2012 Top Specialty Contractors report.
ENR's ranking system is based on annual online surveys they conduct of general engineering contractors, general building contractors, and specialty contractors. From these online surveys, ENR looks at construction trends and tries to get a company's forecast by evaluating its progress and growth.
According to Cool-Roof's Vice President, Lyle Orth, the company has seen a 37 percent increase in revenues over the previous year and a great deal of their business is consumer driven. "Consumers are becoming much more educated," he said. Last year, 70 percent of Cool-Roof's sales were commercial roofing and 30 percent were from the residential insulation market.
Cool-Roof's President Paula Morrison-Orth added, "A lot of times homeowners will talk to their architect or general contractor and only then will the architect or general contractor come to us and say, 'Well, Mrs. So-and-so talked to me about spray foam. What can you tell me about it?'"
Many of Cool-Roof's spray foam customers are also long-term owners. "They're not building to fix and flip," said Orth. "They're going to use spray foam when they plan to inhabit or live in a place for the next 5 to 10 years – something where they can recover the cost benefits."
Orth believes the top-50 ranking will reflect well upon Cool-Roof's service to its customers. "We are moving into new marketing programs this year, so it's an added benefit to show that the company is being recognized for the quality of service and work that we do," he said.
