DC 315 Passes Tests Over InsulStar Spray Foam
NCFI Polyurethanes and International Fireproof Technology, Inc. (Paint to Protect TM) announced today, “DC 315 passes NFPA 286 over NCFI Polyurethane’s InsulStar 2.0 lb/ft³ closed-cell spray polyurethane foams.
IFTI and NCFI ran an NFPA 286 with DC 315 Fireproof Paint for Foam over NCFI InsulStar 2 lb/ft³ closed-cell spray polyurethane foam. The NFPA 286 test satisfies the requirements of the ICC regarding acceptable testing certification to be used in lieu of the requirement for a 15 minute thermal barrier. When DC 315 is applied over NCFI InsulStar 2 lb/ft³ closed cell spray foam it meets the criteria of 2006 IBC Section 803.2.1. / 2009 IBC Section 803.1.2.
DC 315 has now passed the NFPA 286 test over NCFI Sealite™ 0.5 lb/ft³ open-cell, as well as InsulStar® 2 lb/ft³ closed-cell foams making it the preferred thermal barrier solution for NCFI Polyurethanes.
“It‘s been a pleasure working with NCFI”, said Gary Wolfe, VP of Sales for International Fireproof Technology, Inc. “their commitment to safety and testing is second to none.”
Advantages of using DC315 for Thermal Barrier over NCFI spray foam include:
- IBC Code Compliant Thermal Barrier (NFPA 286)
- Single coat coverage, reduced labor cost, fast turnaround time
- Easy application, no complicated mixing
- Water based, easy clean up, won’t gum up equipment
- No formaldehyde, low VOC’s, LEED points
- Made in the USA
