Demilec Recycles 300 Millionth Plastic Bottle Into Its Heatlok Spray Polyurethane Foam Products
ARLINGTON, TX – October 24, 2014 – Demilec, one of North America's largest manufacturers of spray foam products, has recycled its 300,000,000th plastic bottle into its Heatlok family of closed-cell insulation products. Since the company's recycled bottle program launched in 2004, tons of plastic containers - mostly of soda and water bottles - have been diverted from landfills and have helped offset the use of new petroleum in Demilec's products.
"Demilec is always looking to create products that lead to a greener future. Our products are an important part of creating clean, energy-efficient living spaces, workplaces and educational environments," said Paul Herrera, Director of Marketing at Demilec.
In addition to earning points for using spray foam insulation, projects that use Demilec's Heatlok products may also earn additional points in many green certification programs, including the United States Green Building Council's LEED program, for its recycled materials content, as well as its use of renewable resources. (Heatlok products also use oil from soybeans.)
