Department of the Army Certifies Latest Spray Foam Insulation Products from Burtin Polymers
Cartersville, Georgia – July 19, 2011 - News from the US Army Institute of Public Health / Aberdeen Proving Ground Maryland – That Burtin Polymer Laboratories BPL 1445 Series Resin and BPL 1445 Series Iso, as with many other Burtin Polymer Products, meet the criteria for spray-applied foam plastic insulation of the International Code Council and now meet or exceed multiple known military toxicity clearance, compliance and safety certifications for use specified by the US Army.
Spray foam insulation is produced by a chemical reaction when two liquid components are combined, thus creating a rigid or semi-rigid foam as it expands. Once cured it solidifies becoming polyurethane foam. This foam has multiple beneficiary uses. For the military, it will work to reduce energy consumption, assist with climate control in field, especially in operational Afghanistan and Iraq and where noise reduction properties are a concern. This will help save, protect and aid personnel no matter what temporary structure or housing they might need.
“Effective June 3, 2011 - Burtin Polymer Labs has engagingly met the challenge specified by the US Army’s product code mandates for field use. We applaud them at that task and know we will all continue to benefit from the use of BPL’s advanced technology,” stated Jeffrey Simmons, Department of the Army.
“Once again, we are proud to assist the US Army and other Branches of the Military with its need for giving it’s service personnel the top certified tested equipment, high-tech products and most advanced field materials ever produced. Thus helping them to defend our Nation. We are excited our products have continued to meet or exceed their high standards and expectations. We see our service and working with them as a true ongoing partnership,” added Claudio Burtin, CEO Burtin Polymer Laboratories.
