Foametix Racing Returns to Daytona 24
For their third year in a row, Foametix Racing will return for a shot at glory at The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. Following a successful test in which the No. 14 Foametix Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car laid down the fastest Porsche lap time, the team is confident for a strong result at this weekend’s race.
Featuring drivers Jack Baldwin, Claudio Burtin, Martin Ragginger, Dominik Farnbacher, and Mitch Pagerey, the team set a fastest lap time of 1:49.627 during the Roar Before the 24 official test at Daytona on January 8-10. Having qualified for the race third last year, and running with Alex Job Racing, a team synonymous with success in Porsche GT cars, the team is headed to the race as one of the front-runners.
“Our lineup for this year is one of the best in the paddock” stated Foametix driver Claudio Burtin. “We’ve got a great lineup of youth and experience in our car, and hopefully we can claim a good result, we’re due.”
Re-uniting for their third year in a row, the lineup of Baldwin, Burtin, and Ragginger is a formidable one. Jack Baldwin is an absolute legend in sports car racing, having won multiple Trans-Am championships, as well as several victories in the Grand-American series. Claudio Burtin is also extremely experienced in Rolex competition, having driven in a number of Trans-Am, Grand-American and SCCA races, an in a variety of cars. Martin Ragginger is a 21-year old Austrian native, and comes to the team as a member of Porsche’s prestigious junior development program. The trio have raced together since 2008, however misfortunes have continued to elude them from strong results.
Joining the duo will be drivers Dominik Farnbacher and Mitch Pagerey. Farnbacher, from Germany, comes as the 2005 Rolex 24 GT winner, and Mitch Pagerey comes from several years of racing Porsches in the IMSA Patron Challenge, as well as regional events.
For Foametix Spray-On Insulation, the chance to run at Daytona for the third successive year is a welcome opportunity. “The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona is a true test of speed, endurance, and reliability” stated Chris Miller, Director of Business Development for Foametix. “We like to believe that our product reflects the same values as The Rolex 24, as we place a premium on fast insulation combined with an efficient reliable product. We hope to see our car in Victory Lane this year.”
The race will be broadcast live on SPEED on Saturday, January 30th at 3PM EST, and will feature 16 hours of coverage throughout the 24-hour event.
