Fomo Products, Inc. Releases Handi-Foam® Fireblock in a Higher-Volume Cylinder
NORTON, OH – October 18, 2012 – Fomo Products, Inc. announces the release of Handi-Foam® Fireblock in a cylinder dispensing unit. The cylinder unit offers a more convenient, higher volume option for contractors, eliminating the need to frequently reload foam supply. The cylinders are available in I-160 and I-260 sizes with yields of 8,688 and 13,914 linear feet (3/8 inch bead). Additionally, the cylinder's on/off valve comes equipped with a rubber comfort grip for easier use.
Handi-Foam® Fireblock sealant is designed to seal, fill, bond and stop air infiltration and is used to block the passage of flame and smoke in concealed penetrations from room to room and floor to floor in residential construction. The International Building Code for Type V residential construction requires Fireblocking. More effective than traditional fireblock materials at blocking flames and smoke, Handi-Foam® Fireblock has a recognizable orange color allowing inspectors to easily identify the use of an approved fireblock product. Handi-Foam® Fireblock has been evaluated per ICC-ES report ESR-1868.
Additionally, Handi-Foam® has proven to be more cost effective due to the ease of application and excellent yield rates than standard fiberglass and caulks. In fact, one 24 oz. can may replace up to 30 standard tubes of caulk.
Handi-Foam® Fireblock cures when ambient moisture and humidity in the air reacts with the foam sealant creating a rigid, closed-cell barrier against draft, noise, moisture and air infiltration. It is tack free within 10 minutes and meets ASTM E84 Class 1 for caulk and sealants.
In addition to the new cylinder, Handi-Foam® Fireblock is also available in straw and gun foam can dispensing units.
Handi-Foam® Fireblock is not to be used as a firestop in commercial construction. Fomo products are for professional use only.
Handi-Foam® Fireblock is a GREENGUARD certified product for both Indoor Air Quality and Children & Schools categories. The GREENGUARD Certification ensures that products meet some of the world's most comprehensive standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), helping to identify products that contribute to the creation of healthier indoor environments.
