ICC-ES President Mark Johnson explains why ICC-ES Evaluation Reports are so important. “DEMILEC (USA) can now reference the evaluation report to ensure building officials and the building industry that the product meets I-Code requirements,” Johnson said. “Building departments have a long history of using evaluation reports, and ICC-ES operates as a technical resource for the building department. Final approval of building products is always in the hands of the local regulatory agency.”
ICC-ES thoroughly examined DEMILEC (USA)’s product information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods and other factors to ensure the product is code compliant. “DEMILEC (USA) is pleased to have HEATLOK SOY 200 spray foam insulation be recognized by ICC-ES as code compliant,” said Dave Lall, Chief Executive Officer of DEMILEC (USA) LLC. “The new ESR 3210 also shows that HEATLOK SOY 200 meets AC377 Appendix X criteria, and can be left uncovered in attics and crawlspaces without an ignition barrier or intumescent coating when the attic is not used for storage.” With an industry leading aged R-Value of 7.4 at one inch, Demilec (USA) LLC is confident that HEATLOK SOY 200 will become the industry standard when It comes to high performance closed cell polyurethane foam insulation.
ICC-ES is the United States’ leading source of technical information on building products and building technology for code compliance. A nonprofit, public-benefit corporation, ICC-ES performs technical evaluations of building products, components, methods and materials. The evaluation process culminates with the issuance of reports on compliance with the major U.S. building codes, which are available at www.icc-es.org.
ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention that develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools.
