Huntsman Building Solutions Launches Icynene Xpress 55 Spray Foam Insulation
THE WOODLANDS, TX – June 3, 2024 – Huntsman Building Solutions (HBS), the global leader in high performance, energy efficient and resilient building envelope solutions, today introduced a new edition to its Icynene Series, the all-new Icynene Xpress 55, an open cell spray polyurethane foam insulation designed specifically for use in unventilated attics and crawl spaces. The low-density system offers a new standard in Appendix X compliant open cell spray foam and, as part of the company’s I-Series, is provided to valued customers with an elevated service and technical support package.
“Icynene Xpress 55 is the newest addition to our Icynene Series line of high-performance spray foam insulation products,” says Doug Brady, chief strategy officer for Huntsman Building Solutions. “This open cell solution is noteworthy as, once applied, no ignition barrier is required if the attic will be used for the service of utilities only.”
Icynene Xpress 55 exceeds the stringent fire-test requirements from the International Building Code and complies with the AC-377 Appendix X. If a fire occurs, the insulation will discontinue propagating a flame once that flame is removed from the spray foam.
The open-cell spray foam offers excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates, as well as between layers. The 0.5-pound spray foam offers an R-value of R-3.7 at 1” and R-13 at 3.5”. The insulation reduces outside noise and pollution and does not deteriorate or decompose.
The insulation is compliant with the International Residential Code (IRC), International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), California CA 01350 Low VOC, Intertek, and ICC ES.
Icynene Xpress 55 is part of the Icynene Series spray polyurethane foam insulation product line. The product line encompasses a broad range of high-performance, energy efficient open- and closed-cell spray foam systems.
