JM Corbond III® Spray Foam Insulation Approved for use in Canada
DENVER, COLORADO - April 18, 2011 — Johns Manville (JM) announced recently that JM Corbond III® insulation, a premium high-yield closed-cell spray foam insulation, is now available in Canada. The Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC), a national evaluation service for construction materials, products and services, confirmed the product meets its standards for use in commercial and residential buildings.
“We are thrilled to extend distribution of JM Corbond III insulation to Canada and see this as an opportunity to continue meeting the needs of our customers throughout North America,” said Mike Lawrence, vice president and general manager for JM’s Insulation Systems business. “Canadian customers can now utilize JM Corbond III insulation as a stand-alone spray foam product or installed with JM fiber glass insulation for hybrid applications.”
JM Corbond III insulation is a spray-applied, medium-density closed-cell polyurethane foam insulation that can be used alone or installed together with JM fiber glass insulation to create custom thermal solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications. The manufacturer claims that JM Corbond III insulation is a proven closed-cell foam building insulation, providing superior thermal, moisture and cold-temperature performance and dimensional stability. It can be applied at temperatures as low as -4 degrees Celsius (25 degrees Fahrenheit).
The product will have a few key attributes specific to the Canadian market:
- Canadian product color – JM Corbond III insulation product sold in Canada will have a gray appearance
- Certified application – JM Corbond III insulation is to be applied only by Canadian Urethane Foam Contractors Association-certified spray foam contractors/applicators
- Meets CCMC standards – The product has met standards set forth by CCMC (approval number CCMC 13478-L)
- Meets CAN/ULC S705.1 material standard
