Outdoor Exhibits at International Home Builder’s Show Live Spray Foam Demos
ORLANDO, FL – January 13, 2011 – There are four custom built homes displayed outside in the Parking Lot at this year’s NAHB International Home Builders Show. Every one of them uses some type of foam insulation in their quest to become more energy efficient.
We got a chance to visit and look at BASF’s Comfort Foam™ closed-cell spray foam yesterday. BASF is one of the Show Village Sponsors. Inside the Home pictured in this article visitors could look through a Plexiglas wall to see the sprayfoam inside the wall cavities. Spray Foam insulation not only provides a higher r-value than other insulation systems, but it can effectively seal every crack and gap in the home’s construction to reduce air leakage to, and from, the home.
BASF also had an outdoor exhibit where visitors could actually see a live demonstration of spray foam actually being sprayed and installed into the wall cavities. Closed-cell spray foam, such as BASF’s Comfort Foam™ brand, provides a higher r-value than other materials, including open cell spray foam, and has the added benefit of making the building physically stronger, great for buildings in all climate zones, but especially here in Florida.
Check back with us next week for SprayFoam.com’s full report on all the foam insulation products and companies on display at the 2011 International Home Builder’s Show.
