Polyurea Development Association to Host 2010 Annual Conference
Kansas City, MO: January 22, 2010 – Polyurea Development Association (PDA – www.pda-online.org) will hold the 2010 Annual Conference on April 13-15 at the Doubletree Resort Orlando – International Drive in Orlando, Fla. The theme of this exceptional meeting is: “The World of Polyurea.”
"The World of Polyurea" will be dedicated to discussing and experiencing project profiles, the details of Miami-Dade testing and certification, and educational courses. PDA will present a dynamic line up of speakers throughout the conference, starting with two educational courses on Tuesday, April 13: Surface Preparation and Introduction to Polyurea.
The 2010 Annual Conference promises to be a stimulating meeting for formulators, equipment suppliers, contractors, raw material suppliers and many more within the polyurea industry. The main focus of this meeting is to help industry members stay apprised of polyurea technology as well as safe business practices that contribute to the success of their company. Specific session topics for this year’s Conference include chemistry for contractors, polyurea thick-film elastomeric coating, sustainability in coatings, successful sales and marketing techniques as they relate to polyurea, and many more motivating topics.
PDA will also be incorporating a product demonstration section into this year’s conference. PDA is giving equipment manufacturers a chance to show off what they contribute to the industry and educate attendees on industry techniques and best practices.
This year, The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) has partnered with PDA on two very important topics – safety and standards. SSPC is offering a course (additional fees apply) to address what establishes an industry standard, as well as explore all of the standards used by industrial painters. The impact of secondary and tertiary references in standards and the contractual implications of specifying using only a standard will also be addressed in this workshop. SSPC will also present during the general session to discuss safety hazards associated with industrial painting operations. This presentation focuses on how to protect workers and the environment from the hazards of lead and other toxic metals. This presentation also addresses the difficult task of complying with OSHA standards, and the best way to meet those requirements by maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.
“The 2010 Annual Conference is PDA’s 11th anniversary,” says Kelin Bower, PDA Program Planning Chair, “and we have assembled the finest polyurea professionals to share their experiences and case studies to make this the most beneficial meeting in the polyurea industry!”
