Pool House Battles Condensation with Spray Foam Insulation

Barnegat NJ - New Jersey business owners of Heritage Point South needed help for one of their amenities. At their prestigious club house, they were keeping a pool heated year-round at approximately 85 degrees F. Humid air had taken course on the pool house’s ceiling, and the building had condensation so badly that in January 2007, they closed the pool.  It was only a matter of time before they needed to address their problems. After long and exhausting hours of research, the company settled on spray foam insulation. The product of choice these days for untraditional insulation needs like this project.

Heritage Point South contacted spray foam equipment and foam materials supplier, United Spray Foam Systems, Inc. who gave the information to their installer, Performance Foams & Coatings, Inc., a company with more then 20 years experience and over 50 years experience in foam application. Performance brought elite sprayers to the job, and two applicators sprayed approximately 3.25 inches of foam insulating the building and protecting it’s structure from condensation. The team also faced a challenge of creating a smooth appearance so the cementations ignition barrier could be applied effortlessly.

When the project was complete, the clients were very thankful for the product and the contractors who performed the work. In their final step, Performance applied the coating as an ignition barrier in the original color, Sour cream. “The project turned out beautifully” said contractor Mike Alexeev. “We took photographs at the completion of the project and gave them to the Association to show club members the renovation process and the beautiful club house pool they enjoy every day.”
