The conference features 16 technical sessions and more than 70 technical presentations about the latest industry innovations and developments. This year's topics include appliance and energy critical applications; automotive; chemistry and fundamentals; coatings and footwear; construction; elastomers; environment, health and safety; flame retardants and combustibility; flexible foam; processing innovations; renewables; spray polyurethane foam; supply chain symposium; and sustainability.
Expanded Educational Opportunities
Conference attendees will learn from the industry's top experts during CPI's popular Polyurethane Professional Development Program (PDP). PDP courses cover a range of topics, including introduction to polyurethane chemistry; introduction to polyurethane technology; markets and applications; adhesives and sealants; coatings and elastomers; equipment; raw materials; physical testing; and environment, health and safety.
CPI is also offering a new pre-conference workshop entitled "Introduction to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Issues Relative to Diisocyanates," on Sunday, Sept. 22. The workshop, taught by industry experts, will help industry professionals understand the fundamental concepts of EHS regulations, industrial hygiene, toxicology, medical surveillance and exposure controls. This event is free to all registered conference attendees.
Connect with Industry Leaders
The conference also offers extensive networking opportunities, including the Industry Reception on the evening of Sept. 24, and the Table Top Exhibition for companies to showcase their products and connect with prospective customers.
During the conference's closing session on Sept. 25, CPI will present its annual Innovation Award. Nominations for this year's award will be accepted until 5 p.m. EDT on June 18. Click the link below for the award rules and entry form.
In addition, CPI will release its biennial End-Use Market Survey on the Polyurethanes Industry and key findings of the report will be presented during the closing session of the conference. The survey provides a breakdown of polyurethane production by type and by major end-use market for the United States, Canada and Mexico. This year's presentation will highlight changes in the North American market since the release of the 2010 survey data, as well as offer some insights into the global industry. This year's presentation of 2012 findings will highlight changes since the 2010 data was presented and offer some insights regarding the global picture as well.
