RESNET Partners with Icynene to Improve Home Energy Performance across the U.S. [DONT POST YET]
(Mississauga, ON) Icynene Inc., manufacturer of spray foam insulation, today announced a partnership with Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to promote improved home energy performance in the United States. The two organizations will work collaboratively to meet this goal by promoting building science to achieve long-term sustainable energy savings for homeowners.
Icynene Inc. and RESNET will educate and promote Icynene Licensed Contractors as preferred spray foam insulation suppliers who will work together with RESNET-certified Raters. This relationship will help ensure optimal insulating and air-sealing, achieved with Icynene spray foam insulation, is combined with proper mechanical ventilation and performance improvements throughout home construction to maximize energy efficiency, indoor air quality and overall home comfort.

As a preferred supplier for insulation, air-sealing and weatherization, Icynene’s next move will be to offer RESNET’s energy training course as part of the Company’s training program, to assist its Contractors in becoming EnergySmart. “By augmenting their training portfolio with the EnergySmart designation, Icynene Contractors will strengthen their reputations as knowledgeable and trusted insulation/air barrier specialists,” explains Betsy Gallacher, VP of Marketing at Icynene.
Working with RESNET will help Icynene Inc. continue to push forward with its effort to support the advancement of policies for new energy-efficient construction and energy-efficient retrofits for both homes and commercial buildings. This is the latest in a series of strategic moves whereby Icynene is working to support performance-based contracting in the retrofit sector as well as builders promoting highly efficient new homes using the HERS index.
