SPI to Host Informative Event In Chicago

CHICAGO, IL – November 6, 2013 – Specialty Products, Inc. (SPI) is pleased to host their 2013 Expand Your Business Lunch & Learn event. The event will showcase different ways of how members of the SPF and polyurea industries can expand their business utilizing leading industry solutions and learning about both markets and their different trends.

The Expand Your Business Lunch & Learn is a free event that will provide a unique opportunity for members of both industries to maximize their return on investment (ROI) by incorporating polyurea protective coatings and/or polyurethane foam to their business. Lunch and refreshments will be provided by SPI.

"The purpose of the event is to raise awareness on cross-industry opportunities," says SPI's Cliff Haskins. "We lined up the event because some contractors may be spraying SPF and may not be aware of the opportunities that can be taken advantage of with polyurea and their existing equipment, and vice versa. We will present information on how they can expand their business and capitalize on the growth that the industry is seeing at large."

The event will take place on November 15, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at SPI's facility in Chicago, Illinois. The event will feature a series of presentations, which will be given by SPI's Vice President Chas Weatherford, SPI's Midwest Sales Manager Rebekah Taylor, and Natural Polymers' President Ben Brown. The presentations will include topics such as SPF and polyurea coating technology, vertical market opportunities for polyurea and SPF, and an overview of high and low pressure SPF and polyurea equipment.

The presentations will be coupled with SPF and polyurea demonstrations. The demonstrators will show the proper way to install open and closed-cell SPF to a wall cavity. They will also demonstrate SPF roof applications, as well as use mock-ups to show pour foam applications on pipeline and tanks. For polyurea demonstrations, the presenters will conduct barrier and waterproofing coating applications over different substrates such as plywood, concrete, and steel. They will also demonstrate a secondary containment liner application over geotextile fabric, a spray-on, one-step concrete resurfacing and waterproofing application, and a polyurea concrete joint-fill and crack or spall repair.

"There are a lot of people out there that don't realize that they could be offering other products and taking on additional jobs," says Haskins. "Our aim and mission is to bring that to people's attention during this event."
