SprayFoam.com Sponsors Mixed Martial Arts Fighter in His UFC® Debut
Sept. 22, 2008 (Brielle, NJ) - SprayFoam.com, the foremost website for the rapidly growing spray foam insulation, roofing and equipment industry, will soon be associating with one of the most quickly growing sports in the United States, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®).
The NJ-based company sponsors a local fighter, Nick Catone of Brick, New Jersey, who recently signed a multiple fight deal with the mixed martial arts (MMA) organization. He will be making his UFC debut in Las Vegas on November 15th as part of UFC 91, a major Pay-Per-View (PPV) event.
The bout will pit Catone against Amir Sadollah, the winner of SpikeTV’s The Ultimate Fighter 7. Headlining the highly anticipated event will be a fight between current and three-time UFC World Heavyweight champion Randy Couture and Brock Lesnar, an up-and-coming fighter within the organization. Couture is also the former two-time UFC World Light Heavyweight Champion.
Doug Commette, owner of SprayFoam.com, is excited about the partnership and the upcoming event. “We are very proud to support a local athlete like Nick and we wish him all the best of luck and success in his upcoming matchup. We also think that Sprayfoam.com and Mixed Martial Arts / UFC® create an appropriate matchup since both businesses are growing their audience and gaining more brand awareness every day.” Last year, CBS News’ 60 Minutes called Mixed Martial Arts the “Fastest Growing Sport in America.” “The SprayFoam.com MMA connection is a good fit and is extremely similar to that in the spray foam insulation industry, with its ever increasing consumer awareness of the benefits of green, energy efficient foam insulation,” Commette added.
Constantly gaining in popularity, the UFC® is recognized as the largest mixed martial arts organization in the world. The UFC has built a strong reputation for its consistently entertaining and exciting competitions and it currently holds the record for the largest PPV viewership for any event, surpassing both boxing and WWE.
Although this will be Nick’s first UFC appearance, his first professional MMA fight was in May 2007 and he currently boasts an undefeated 6-0 record. He also holds the Ring of Combat - USKBA Middleweight Championship Belt.
His Jiu-Jitsu training began in 2005 at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Shore Academy under the guidance of his long-time friend and training partner Professor Bill Scott who is a Ricardo Almeida Black Belt. Catone currently holds a Purple Belt rank in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and was and acclaimed 2x NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Conference Champion.
