TarHeel Roofing Specializes in High-Rise Spray Foam
ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – June 18, 2012 - TarHeel Roofing Inc. has been in the roofing business for more than 30 years, installing roof types made of shingles, standing seam metal, coal tar pitch, and tile for high-rise commercial buildings. 18 years ago, TarHeel added sprayed polyurethane foam to its list of roofing services.
“We wanted to pick up a specialty line,” said Robert Pope, senior account manager at TarHeel Roofing Inc. “We weren’t sure what system we wanted to add to the conventional line already existing so we had a consultant come in who quickly sold the owners on spray polyurethane foam.”
According to Pope, spray polyurethane foam makes up about 20% of TarHeel’s business. That’s more spray foam roofs than the national average of roughly 5%.
“We consider ourselves second generation spray foam roofers,” said Pope. “We had more than 10 years of roofing experience before we discovered spray polyurethane foam.”
“A high percentage of foamers aren’t really roofers, they are people who have spray foam equipment who have been taught how to roof,” said Pope. “There is more to roofing than just the membrane. We combine traditional roofing practices with foam application. We provide professionalism, through experience, to the foam roofing industry.”
