The Sustainable Workplace Alliance to Conduct Free Spray Foam Health & Safety Training Classes
Stuart, FL. - May 25, 2011 - The Sustainable Workplace Alliance was awarded a coveted Susan Harwood grant by the Occupational Safety and Heath Administration for developing and conducting training in the Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) industry. This Targeted Topic Training grant was awarded to just 16 organizations.
The Sustainable Workplace Alliance has just announced dates and locations for the five half-day training classes:
- Dallas, TX - Friday June 24, 2011
- San Diego, CA - Monday August 15, 2011
- Phoenix, AZ - Friday August 19, 2011
- Denver, CO - Tuesday August 23, 2011
- Orlando, FL - Friday September 23, 2011

These free classes will provide in depth information about the hazards found in the Spray Foam industry and how to protect the health and safety of employees working in that field. Each attendee will receive a CD containing PowerPoint’s, written safety programs, handouts and other valuable training related tools. All training tools will be available in both English and Spanish languages.
These outreach training workshops demonstrate the continued efforts of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to educate both employers and employees on how they can conduct business safely & successfully” relates Susan Rivera, Executive Director of the Sustainable Workplace Alliance. “We are pleased to be able to assist the Department of Labor and OSHA in their efforts to educate the public and reduce injuries and illnesses,”
Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis stated "This grant program is a crucial component to our efforts to provide workers with training about job hazards and their rights. It also provides employers with information about unsafe working conditions and their responsibilities under the law." The Occupational Safety and Health Act was enacted in 1970 to assure safe and healthful working conditions for America’s working men and women.
