Cathedral Ceilings
Is there a product that can be fastened/stapled to the underside of the roof that would allow air flow between the foam and the underside of the roof?Or do you normally just spray directly on the underside? I have heard certain shingle manufacturers will void their warranty if there isn't adequate air flow between the insulation and the sheeting. |

I would recommend spraying directly to the roof decking. Adding any venting to the system only adds to the possibility of moisture entering the roof system. The testing done in Phoenix, AZ by UCSC before being bought out by Bayer found only a 5deg temp difference between a vented and non-vented roof system, hardly enough to shorten the shingle life. They also found that the color of the shingles had more effect on temp and shingle life. Most quality shingle manufactures accept the non-vented roof system except the pink guys. Airpro |
