Coating for foam used in an ice chest application?
I have a small job/favor for a client, he wants me to spray an aluminum box which will be used for an ice chest on his house boat. I am going to spray closed cell foam inside the box approx. 1.5" thick and am looking for a coating to cover it with that will give it a more durable finish. Basically a hard coating to seal the foam off and protect against usage. I ran across this product called Pelucid - Rock-Hard Clear Coat. Are you familiar with this product? or can you suggest something that may work in this application?

I am not familiar wth that product. I presume that the ice box will hold fish or food so you want a coating that will be suitable with food.

As for a coating that is sufficiently strong to hold up, you could use a moisture cure polyurethane coating or an epoxy coating.

Just ask the supplier if it is USDA approved for interior finishes.
