Hot tub room
I am bidding a house (new construction) with a hot tub room off the master bedroom (10x23). Framed 2x6 exteriors and interiors. I propose spraying 4 inches of 2lb in all walls and down spraying 4' of 2lb on the ceiling . Am I missing anything? I have not done many hot tub/pool rooms and want it done right. And yes, they are installing a dehumidifier.

You need to estimate the humidity and temperature in the room with and without the dehumidifier. Then calculate whether the application requires a vapor retarder over the foam. A good rule of thumb, if you expect more than 60% humidity and the hot tub room 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house, use a vapor retarder coating over the foam. A WUFI simulation may be useful. Check with your supplier to see if they can do one for you. |
