ipm 232 air motor rebuid question
pump was very sluggish pumping saturday. got the air motor apart.Had a gusmer rebuild kit. very simple pump components.4flat plastic washers & two piston rings. loctite on the end of 3 screws.
cleaned the metal with CRS mass air flow sensor cleaner.(does not hurt plastic)

the question: no lubrication instructions. so i take that to mean no oil, silicone, grease to be added?
is this air pump made to run with the rings dry?
pump is 4 years old. 80 degrees saturday. pumping 2.4 to a flat roof

Most of the plastic parts in these air motors are non lubricated because the plastic materials theselves are supposed to be lubricious. Also, if you use the wrong lubricant, it can be absorbed into the plastic and cause it to swell causing it to bind up. Moisture in the line is what typically causes these to bind up and fail. The old parts can sometimes be "revived" by "dehydrating" them much like in a food dehydrater.
Check your air line dryer to make sure you have clean dry air.
