Low Humidity
I just remodeled a 1600sqft ranch in south west Ohio. We completely gutted the house, closed cell on all exterior walls and open on the entire roof deck, completely sealed attic. House is now finished and I have noticed that a lot of my wood is splitting. I put a humidity monitor in the house yesterday and I am at 20%. So my question is did my HVAC guy get the BTU way off and it is just drying the house out way too much? Should I go ahead and add a humidifier to the entire house? I also have not installed my ERV yet and am not for sure if this will help or hurt my situation. Thanks in advance!!
