Metal Buildings
I am working at a trade show and I just had a customer ask about spraying onto a corrigated metal building. He said it used to rust the metal prematurely, is there any truth in that or any testing that I can present him with? Thanks

Sprayfoam if installed correctly will not cause metal to rust prematurely. But, it will not stop rust either. PHenolic foam does corrode metal. Perhaps he got mixed up, or the metal was not properly treated before the foam was sprayed.

If it has some rust before you spray the foam, it will continue to rust. Also, if there are foam blisters next to the metal, condensation can occur that will hasten rusting of the metal.
