overheated hose
Fellow foamers:
I had hose overheat problem today that caused my whip assembly to melt resulting in a pin hole leak. I have a Glascraft MH III with a P2 gun. I had last run my rig about 2 1/2 weeks ago and had basically run my drums dry (I NEVER do this but didn't want to spend the loot on a set that was going to sit). Anyway, I pulled off my side blocks and was re-priming the hoses. I had turned my hose heat to my typical 110 to facilitate this process. I got the hoses primed, cleaned up my gun, changed my mixing chamber, put her all back together. The whole process took about 45 minutes. I started pulling my hose out and I noticed the amp meter was still calling for heat so I checked the temp expecting to see that it wasn't heating. Imagine my suprise when the temp was 175! I immediately shut it down but alas the damage was done. Now the question, wtf caused this? I doubt it is my thermocoupler as it is only 8 months old. Any ideas?

Stuck relay. We always carry a spare. Be prepared for pulling out burnt iso crystals for the next 12 months.
