parking deck spray foam
Mason, i thought i read somewhere in the code book about spray foam insulation and needing a barrier for applications on the ceiling of a parking deck. Anyways, my question is whether a thermal barrier is required when applying 2lb spray foam to the ceiling of a parking deck. The ceiling doubles as the first floor for condominiums that are directly over the parking deck. Thanks.

I think the parking deck would qualify as a inhabited space rather than a crawl space so i would agree that a thermal barrier would be required. But, to make sure, I will send the inquiry to ICC staff for their interpretation of the code. |
