I was told by someone not to long ago that pipelines are using spf to insulate parts of the line. Can you give me any details on uses and what or how they are used and how to market that area. thanks

They have been insulating pipe with polyurethane foam for over 40 years. Most of the pipes are insulated at the factory. But the joints are insulated in the field.

This is a specialized field that is typically performed by the companies who make the insulated pipe and sell it to the oil and gas companies. They either have folks in house that go out into the field to insulate the joints or hire it out to contractors with this specific type of experience. Companies such as Perma-Pipe, Bredero Price and lots of others.

You have to get on their vendor list and bid for their projects. The qualifications vary from company to company but they would require a minimum amount of insurance, proof of resources (both financial, trained personnel and equipment) plus a reference list of jobs similar to the pipeline insulation.
