proper trimming procedure
started putting 2.0lb. foam in the open studs of my garage.this is practice for a 1st timer. did one wall. 8 foot tall by 28 ft long.(2x4) kinda went overboard in a few places. anyway i tried to trim it with 12" blade on my sawsall. real headache. should i have filled every other stud cavity? i could have gotten the saw in the open cavity and been able to cut straighter on the foam cavity. any 18" blades out there? anybody making a homeade blade? SO, with a sawsall, what is the best way to trim?

You might try a backsaw. Fairly cheap at Home Depot. 2.0 lb trims hard, period. We have learned to stay under the 3.5" limit :). gcw |

i have a tree trimming saw,,,large teeth on one side,small teeth on the other,,,about 2 foot long on a single hand grip,,,good for tight spaces,,,may be affordable option for your one wall... if you plan on working closed cell,,invest in a good foam plane.. |
