Removing spf
Does anyone know of the best way to remove old damaged spf on a roof? I have been told to hydroblast it off. How many psi would be required and how hard is it to contain the debris?

I dont do roofs but I have seen somthing called a scarfer. It looks like a walk behind thatcher and you can just remove the top layer if just the surface is damaged. Then you can spray on the clean exposed surface. I think I seen it at cpillc.com. Not sure if it was there or not but I know it exsists. |

Yes, the best scarfer is marketed by Dick West. Hydroblasting would take 25gpm at 2500 psi. Of the two the scarfer is a neater job. You could also put DuroLast or white TPO over it. I would try to fix it first. gcw |

Excuse my unneeded interjection here, but wouldnt waterblasting be pretty bad if youre tearing out the roofing? Is that the same as hydroblasting, I assume? |
