Romex degradation
Has anyone heard of spray foam, open or closed-cell, causing the insulation surrounding Romex to degrade? I am in the New Orleans area and recently have come acrros this issue with an architect. I have never heard or read of this anywhere before nor has the manufacturer. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have been in the insulation business since 1976 and only recently I have had a building inspector ask for specs on foam insulation regarding romex and the possibility of corrosion. After extensive research (including calling engineers and chemists in the industry ) there seems to be no problems to date with degradation or corrosion of any kind. |
